Russell
D. Metz, M.D.
Dr. Metz was born in
South Carolina and was a biology major at the
University of South Carolina, where he graduated
Magna Cum Laude. He receive his M.D. degree
from Emory University in Atlanta. After an internship
in internal medicine at the University of Washington
in Seattle, he attended the University of Michigan
for his dermatology residency. At Michigan he
served both as Chief Resident and a Melanoma
Fellow. Since moving to Jacksonville in 1995,
he has held the positions of Secretary-Treasurer
and President of the Jacksonville Dermatology
Society. He is also an active member of the
Florida Medical Association, Florida Society
of Dermatology, and the Florida Physician’s
Association.
In
addition he is a frequent lecturer to colleagues
regarding Dermatology topics. Personally, he
is married with a daughter and a son. He enjoys
following professional and college sports (especially
the Jaguars), working out, movies and being
with his family.
