What is a Physician Assistant?

A Physician Assistant is a master's-degree-prepared healthcare professional who practices medicine with a supervising physician. Their extensive education, experience and licensing allow them to diagnose and treat the same medical conditions as their physician supervisors.

Today, board-certified PAs are an integral part of our healthcare system. As part of their responsibilities, PAs perform comprehensive dermatological examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, perform biopsies and other dermatological procedures, order and interpret lab tests, and (in most states, including Florida) prescribe medications.
