Randall Patrinely MD, MBA

Dr. Randall Patrinely was born in Houston, Texas, but raised in the Florida panhandle, giving him deep roots in the state he now calls home. He earned his bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Florida before attending medical school at Vanderbilt University. There he completed a dual MD/MBA through Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, as well as a 12-month research fellowship through Vanderbilt's Medical Scholars Program, studying advanced melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer and the use of non-invasive imaging technology to diagnose skin disease.

He went on to complete his dermatology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, receiving extensive training in general, complex medical, pediatric, procedural, and cosmetic dermatology, and was elected by faculty and colleagues to serve as chief resident. He then stayed at Vanderbilt to complete a competitive fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, with advanced training in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery, and complex reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Patrinely is an active researcher and author, with nearly 50 peer-reviewed publications in top journals including JAMA, The Lancet Oncology, the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, along with close to 50 abstracts presented at national and international meetings.

Dr. Patrinely is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Outside the office, Dr. Patrinely enjoys spending time with family, playing tennis and pickleball, stand-up paddleboarding (while staying sun-safe, of course), and traveling.

Dr. Patrinely is excited to join Beaches Dermatology, where his practice includes Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer along with general and cosmetic dermatology.
